You are looking at the same display Fox Chicago Meteorologists use in the Fox WeatherWatch Center.

 

You may notice the image zoomed in, or moving around, as this is the same display used on television.

 

Red and Green dots on the screen indicate storm reports.

Yellow lightning bolts and smaller "plus" signs indicate lightning.

Rotating yellow circles indicate a particularly strong storm.

Rotating red circles indicate a potentially tornadic storm.

Blue raindrops indicate flooding reports

Various other icons may be displayed at times

 

The radar operates in a variety of modes, determined by the Meteorologist using the system.
