Kimberly began her flight training in San Diego California in 1998. Like most pilots she systematically acquired her various pilot ratings over several years.
Shortly after she began her training she was fortunate enough to be hired as the office manager at the flight school which allowed her to continue her studies.
She then earned her instructor credentials and taught while obtaining advanced certificates and ratings.
She is a dual rated Captain and is qualified to fly both jets and helicopters. Her current ratings and licenses are: ATP (airline transport pilot) in jets, commercial pilot in the helicopter and is qualified to instruct basic, advanced and instrument maneuvers in airplanes and helicopters.
She’s also type-rated in three jets: a Hawker 800, Mitsubishi 300 and Beech Jet 400A.
In March 2006, Kimberly began flying AIRFOX. Prior to that she flew a corporate/police helicopter in Wisconsin before the aircraft was sold. She continues flying a police helicopter on a volunteer basis for LEAC, (Law Enforcement Aviation Coalition) based in Kenosha,Wisconsin.
LEAC offers the service of several law enforcement helicopters available to any city in Southern Wisconsin or Northern Illinois at no cost to the city or any community asking for assistance.
The LEAC helicopters have been utilized in Homeland Security, search and rescue, and felony apprehensions. They also serve in the interest of public safety, such as relief efforts in New Orleans after hurricane Rita, in which Kimberly also participated.
Kimberly currently lives in Lakemoor, Illinois. She likes to relax at home with her two cats Ziggy and Skeeziks, work out, hike, rock climb or take her Harley out for a spin.
